1. Janapada Loka, Doddamannugudde Forest

This Folk Culture Museum in Karnataka has a huge collection of the village folk artworks. Folk Arts Museum, Loka Mahal, Chitra Kuteera, Doddamane, Shilamala are some of the wings of Janapada Loka that have a combined collection of 5000 folk artefacts. At the entrance through the decorated gate, you will see a path displaying mannequins of folk artists, traditional tribal rituals, puppet theatre, open-air theatre and a lake with a number of swans. Musical instruments, agricultural tools, household items such as a huge grinding stone, cooking vessels, jars, containers and utensils are displayed in the folk art museum. Traditional dolls, puppets, jewellery and traditional attires, Chau masks are displayed in Loka Mahal. Chitra Kuteera displays some wonderful artworks while the Doddamane is a replica of a traditional village. Shilamala offers some ancient stone sculptures and Ayagaramala exhibits some cottage industrial items. You will get a unique traditional vibe visiting here.

2.Flight 4 Fantasy, Bengaluru

Flight 4 Fantasy is the place where you would be able to discover the joy of flying a plane with their technologically advanced flight simulators. Here, you would get the chance to experience what it is like to fly a Boeing 737 or Military Fighter Jets or even a Cessna. The simulators closely resemble the aircraft and the experience is an unforgettable one. You can choose from the variety of experiences ranging from 15 minutes to sixty minutes. No prior experience of flying or safety gears are required which is a good thing. The accompanying trainers are rather cordial while the realistic instrument panels and the cockpit offer the required authenticity.

3.Kolaramma Temple, Kolar

Kolaramma Temple is built and dedicated to Goddess Shakti. The temple is built in Dravida Vimana Style and dates back to the Ganga period. The temple has some tantric rituals depicted and a unique depiction of the tantric goddess carrying a bow. The plastic art is another architectural feature at this temple. A slab with a battle scene depicted on it is now found on the front platform of the entrance to the temple. The heroic stone ‘Viragal’ which is around four and a half feet tall is covered with relief work of horses, soldiers, elephants, celestial cars and celestial nymphs.

4.Nilavoor Lake, Yelagiri

Nilavoor Lake is a well known tourist attraction Yelagiri, Tamil Nadu. It is a boating lover’s paradise as the calm blue waters are perfect for boating. It is an artificial lake and quite small, more like a pond. It has a Devi Temple belonging to Kadavu Nachiya where devotees gather from near and far. The garden enveloping the lake is well-manicured and perfect for a quiet and contemplative walk. Quite recently, Thambiran Lotus Pond has been established here. You can rent out the boats and kayaks available here at a reasonable rate. Visit this lake for a delightful experience.
